RAM maintains a professional logistics staff experienced in support of mission critical defense systems. Our logistics staff possesses a diverse mix of military and industrial experience and is capable of providing a full range of life-cycle activities.
Logistics Support Analyses
RAM conducts Logistics Support Analyses throughout the acquisition process through the selective application of scientific and engineering principles. We assist with the Integrated Logistics Support activities of supply; support equipment analysis; training and training equipment; facilities; design interface; maintenance planning; manpower and personnel; technical data; packaging, handling, storage, and transportation; and computer resources support. In a recent system upgrade, RAM analyzed the systemís logistics requirements, led the effort to prepare system operations and maintenance (O&M) documentation, and supported the preparation and conduct of training courses for O&M of subsystem deliverables and their interfaces into the system. RAM, in conjunction with subsystem suppliers, analyzed operator and maintenance tasks to identify required support equipment, software tools, numbers of spare and repair parts (at the Line Replaceable Unit level), consumable and expendable materials, and O&M procedures. RAM developed, documented, and staffed the general maintenance concept in coordination with the vendors. RAM defined the recommended support resources in sufficient detail to allow another contractor with comparable skills to assume O&M, support of the system, and sustain the system availability requirements. RAM, in coordination with existing life-cycle support contractors, developed initial fielding plans and verified that the fielding plans, maintenance actions, and support structure aligned with the maintenance concept.
Operations and Maintenance
RAM has significant experience providing O&M support to Government customers. RAM provides trained and qualified personnel to support maintenance operations that range from normal preventive maintenance through depot-level repair. We support tactical, commercial, non-tactical vehicles, and test equipment in Directorate of Logistics environments. RAM maintains records that reflect inspection, service, repairs, and related costs for each item of equipment in accordance with DA PAM 750-35, FAR 45.5, technical manuals, and lubrication orders. For some customers, RAM provides electronic equipment maintenance and fabrication services. This includes maintenance of GFP instrumentation, weather stations, and communications equipment; fabrication of cables; assembly of electronic equipment and instrumentation; and completing modifications. RAM analyzes system and subsystem functionality and develops and conducts training courses in the O&M of the supported systems and subsystems.
Range and Facility Support
RAM provides logistics support to test ranges and other facilities. We implement industry-standard purchasing programs and procedures, property accountability systems, and inventory and warehousing operations. We provide hardware- and software-related support for O&M of live fire systems, test instrumentation, and voice and data communications systems. We design and develop data collection plans, scoring rules, and data analysis plans in support of logistics requirements.
RAM provides logistics training through mobile training teams and helpdesk support for the Army Re-set Management Tool. We provide hands-on and remote logistics training by planning, developing, and managing classroom activities, learning objectives, training materials, points of instruction, and providing classroom instruction and field training. We also help the Government conduct logistics workshops, conferences, and demonstrations.
